District 30 Democratic Club

D30 endorses Joanna Bache Tobin for Board of Education District 6! This election year, D30 voters will have a say in who represents District 6 on the Board of Education. Now, more than ever, we need a Board member that understands the unique needs of the D30 community and has the experience to navigate the chaos created by COVID and massive budget shortfalls. Joanna has over 20 years of experience in education governance and oversight, including 10 years as a school accreditation evaluator. Her experience will enable her to reimagine critical aspects of public education, including social and emotional learning and support, individualized teaching, and engaged learning. She will use her skills to lead our schools through very difficult fiscal times. She will fight to deliver the great education that all children need and deserve for them to thrive in the future. The future of Maryland students is at stake.

I voted for Joanna and am pleased to endorse her for our school board because of her experience, her work ethic, and — most importantly — her deep commitment to our kids. Her background as an educator, as well as her many years of education leadership, will serve our students, teachers, families and schools well — especially as AACPS faces the long-term effects of the pandemic. I'm grateful to her for stepping up at a time when our students, families and teachers need her knowledge, skills and can-do attitude. Joanna has the leadership experience and the collaboration skills to work well with the rest of the Board of Education in service of providing an excellent education to all of our students.
